JAK’s Quest was developed as the visual identity for my gaming YouTube channel, a place to share gameplay, creative projects, and storytelling adventures. When naming the channel, I wanted to preserve the connection to my primary brand, From the Mind of JAK, while capturing the feeling of embarking on a journey, both in games and in creative growth.
The logo itself is custom-lettered, built entirely from a hand-drawn sketch. The stylized geometric text draws inspiration from retro fantasy RPG titles and treasure-hunting aesthetics, giving it a strong, quest-like personality. The gold color palette was chosen to evoke the sense of reward and discovery, like finding treasure at the end of a long adventure. The texturing and shading add depth and grit, balancing the polished look with a sense of exploration and perseverance.
The supporting YouTube branding, including the banner and thumbnails, carries over this adventurous feel with clean, layered landscapes and bold typography, helping maintain visual cohesion across all content.
Reflection:
This project was a passion piece that blended my love for gaming, design, and storytelling. Building the logo from a sketch to a polished identity was deeply rewarding, it felt like a visual manifestation of the journey I want to take viewers on. It also reinforced how my design work can seamlessly evolve into personal creative ventures while staying authentic to my artistic style.
