Video Intro
This branding was created for my niece’s YouTube channel, The Shaylagh Payla Show, as a way to help her present her growing channel with a professional yet personal look. I collaborated with my sister to develop a visual identity that would feel warm, inviting, and youthful while giving Shaylagh something she could proudly call her own.
The design centers around a custom cartoon-style avatar that reflects Shaylagh’s real-life appearance and personality, expressive, cheerful, and full of energy. The bright pink color palette and comic-inspired halftone background were chosen to evoke a sense of fun and excitement, while still staying clean and readable across digital platforms.
The typography uses a friendly handwritten script with bold outlines, reinforcing the approachable, creative tone of her channel. The logo was adapted for multiple uses, profile icon, YouTube banner, and thumbnail branding, to ensure consistency across all visual assets.
Reflection:
This project was particularly special because it was personal, helping a family member bring her creative vision to life. It reminded me of the joy of using design to empower others to express themselves, especially young creators finding their voice. I’d love to expand on this brand over time with seasonal or themed versions to keep it fresh and playful as her channel grows.
