Phoenix Raceway Helmet Decals was commissioned as part of a new racing season initiative, requiring both brand integration and technical precision.
A key challenge of the project was developing a curved-surface template from scratch. Using photographic reference points and real-world measurements, I constructed a detailed vector layout that accurately mapped the helmet’s geometry. This ensured the decals would wrap seamlessly across compound curves without distortion during production and application.
Multiple design directions were explored, each integrating the Phoenix Raceway logo and brand colors with aerodynamic striping to visually reinforce speed and motion. The selected concept features a dynamic combination of turquoise, yellow, and black, echoing the energy and heat of Arizona racing while maintaining strong visibility on track.
This project balanced technical problem-solving with brand-forward design, resulting in a helmet system that performs both visually and physically in a high-speed environment.
