Logo
Youtube Channel Graphics
This branding was created for my wife’s channel, Maker of Things and Stuff, which focuses on DIY, crafting, and creative projects. From the start, I wanted the design to mirror the channel’s spirit, imaginative, bold, and beautifully hands-on.
The logo is a highly detailed typographic illustration, where roughly 90% of the filigree, scrollwork, and accenting was drawn entirely by hand on my Wacom Cintiq using custom Illustrator brushes. While the base lettering came from a type foundation, every flourish, curve, and embellishment was customized to bring a vintage sign-painter aesthetic to life, reminiscent of turn-of-the-century maker labels and craft emblems.
The color palette combines teal, gold, and deep blue, striking a balance between bold energy and handcrafted sophistication. The YouTube channel graphics, including the banner, thumbnail templates, and icon, maintain that ornate, detailed look while adapting for legibility and digital clarity.
Reflection:
This piece remains one of my favorite branding projects because it’s deeply personal, both a labor of love and a collaboration with my wife’s creative journey. It also pushed my hand-illustration and lettering skills further than most of my work, blending digital precision with organic craft. The result feels uniquely alive, exactly what a maker brand should be.
